Holt Lutheran is in a shift. We are shifting to the future. We are shifting for the future. We are shifting to be more Creative!
Sir Ken Robinson who is known as a leader to the world of developing creativity and innovation was interviewed by Educational Leadership (2009) about “Why Creativity Now?” Sir Robinson touched on a lot of different thoughts during the interview. He stated that creativity is not about special people, not about special activity, and not about free-will spirit letting go. It is about everyone, it is about everything, and it is a much disciplined thought process. He went on to say that creativity, which he defined as doing things with an original idea with a purpose, and critical thinking goes hand–in-hand. It is about the process, where the original thought can be collaboratively brought on, and not a single event. Sir Robinson stated you must personalize the curriculum so you can help teach creativity. He ended with the statement, “don’t give them the answers, give them the tools to find the answers.”
